Health Notes from the Nurse
In order to help prevent the spread of illnesses during this flu/virus season, please remember the following our school policy:
Students who have had a fever of 100 degrees or higher, vomiting or diarrhea must be kept out of school for 24 hours after the last episode occurs and must be fever-free for at least 24 hours (without anti-fever medications) before returning to school.
Enteroviruses are found in the respiratory tract and spread from person to person when an ill person coughs, sneezes or touches a contaminated surface.
BASIC STEPS TO PROTECT YOUR FAMILY & KEEP HEALTHY:

- Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. Teach your children to wash their hands often.
- Avoid close contact, such as kissing, hugging, and sharing cups or eating utensils with people who are sick.
- Cover your coughs and sneezes with a tissue or elbow, NOT YOUR HANDS
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, such as toys and doorknobs, especially if someone is sick.
- Stay at home when you are sick and keep sick children out of school.
